PRINCIPLE

Our Story

cooling the beans _ principle

I have come to acknowledge that I love quality drinks: water, kombucha, tea, beer, wine, and of course coffee. Perhaps like me, your first taste of a local craft brown ale or single farm Guatemalan coffee (even though it was drip!) – changed the paradigm forever. Since I came to the "shocking" realization that coffee wasn't confined to Yuban or Folgers coffee crystals – I have been on a quest.
Like many, this quest had me sampling everything "craft" that I could find. After spending quite a few years searching for and purchasing local batch roasted coffee, I took the plunge and tried my hand at home roasting. I thought, "I could save a few bucks, and at least have some fun."

I took a 6,000 mile trip across the States a few years ago, and was surprised to find a lack of quality coffee outside of big cities. Even outside of Seattle proper, where I was living, there weren't many roasteries to speak of. Again, I thought, "My coffee tastes just about as good as any of these..."

Well, from southern California to Seattle area to Texas and now back to the PNW … I started thinking of ways to build a family business with my huge clan of children. Wheels turning...Bingo! But, most importantly, my wife thinks I should share this desire and devotion with y'all. That's good enough for me...

OC cultivated – PNW planted!
